Movie Review:
The movie stars Ashok Kumar, Sanjeev Kumar, Sumita Sanyal in lead roles.The movie is a family drama with disputes among spouse and loss of daughters life. Movie starts with Shivnath Choudhary (Ashok Kumar) who lives a wealthy lifestyle in Chandanpur alongwith his wife named Leela (Veena) and an eight years old daughter named Neena (Baby Deepali). He likes to mingle with poor folk much especially Baiju (Harindranath Chattopadhyay). But his wife gets angry of his help. She shuns them and only tolerates them as long as they continue to pay taxes. One day Shivnath steals money to help dwellers which somehow Leela gets to know and she forbids him from seeing Neena ever again. Shivnath gets hurt and moves to Bombay and there he comes across a man named Mahadev. Later he makes some money by entertaining young children which includes a girl named Neena (Baby Sarika).And thus it continues. Movie is good and won several awards.
Music of the movie is given by Vasant Desai. Songs are sung in beautiful voices of Asha Bhosle, Harindranath Chattopadhyay, Manna Dey, Hemalata, Lata Mangeshkar.The song " Rail Gadi" is considred a rap like song and was more popular.
