Hero was directed by one of the best director of all times, Subhash Ghai in the year 1983.
The movie stars Jackie Shroff, Meenakshi Sheshadri, Bindu, Shakti Kapoor, Shammi Kapoor, Sanjeev Kumar, and Amrish Puri. Actress Meenakshi Sheshadri, who had been crowned Miss India in 1981 and played the lead female role in the film, gained popularity after this movie.
Music is nice and is given by Laxmikant - Pyarelal. The movie strikes a chord mainly because of good direction and a super hit old hindi songs like "Ding Dong" and "Tu mera janoo hai" are just two of the melodious numbers that still remain hummable even after all these years.
