Suraj was directed by T. Prakash Rao in the year 1966.
The movie stars Rajendra Kumar, Vyjayanthimala, Ajit, Johnny Walker, Mumtaz, Lalita Pawar and Neetu Singh. Suraj is considered one of its first kind of fantasy costume dramas of bollywood which was highly commercially successful.The movie's story is good but the music of story was much more appreciated.
Music is excellent and is given by Shankar Jaikishan.Besides Mohammed Rafi's "Baharon phool barsao" his other solo "Gustakhi maaf" was hugely popular. His two duets "Kaise samjhaoon"(with Asha Bhosle) & "Itna hai tumse pyar"(with Suman Kalyanpur) are considered all time romantic hits.
