Kohinoor was directed by S U Sunny and produced by Dr V. N. Sinha in the year 1960.
The movie stars Dilip Kumar, Meena Kumari, Leela Chitnis and Tun Tun.It is said that Dilip Kumar went into depression after playing tragic roles in films such as Devdas and his psychiatrist recommended to do light roles. One such role that he took up was Kohinoor. Kohinoor gad Dilip Kumar and Meena Kumari play a prince and princess of different kingdoms and was full of sword fights, songs and dances. Its tone was light and it lacked the itense characterisations of his earlier films.
Rather music of the movie is awesome. Songs are nice and melodious. Music is given by Naushad. And songs are sung by Asha Bosle, Mohammed Rafi and Lata Mangeshkar.
